Online Reservations and Ordering, are made up of two modules.

  1. The Reservation Module: Included with FoodBank Manager
  2. The Portal Module: Optional module that opens up your reservations online.

The Reservation Module consists of several page views that allows you to see the reservations for the day, the reservations in the future and the expired reservations. There is also a pending reservation option that allows you to do research and determine if the reservation will be approved or not.

The "Upcoming Events" view let you see how your distributions are configured, see the number of reservations in them and how full they are.

There is also a "Picklist" option where you can present an item list to the guest making a reservation allowing them the option to preselect the items they want. This way when they come in for their selected day and time, the items are already packed and ready for them. Perfect for a quick turnaround or drive through.

Here are some additional features of the Reservation Module

  • Set when a distribution can be seen for a reservation
  • Set time frames and how many households slots are available for each time frame
  • Create one or more picklists
  • Picklists allow for guest commments, instructions or feedback
  • You can set limitations at the item level, the catagory level and the picklist level
  • Limitations are based on wether they are homeless, by household or by household size
  • Your guests will also be required to fill out a simple guest record that is presented to you on their first reservation when using the portal
  • Distributions can be limited to inhouse reservations, reservations through the portal only or both
  • Reservations also observe the standard limitations that we provide during the visit experience

The "Portal Module" is designed to work with reservations but the difference is that the portal allows for your guests to make their own reservations and orders at their homes on their computers or even their phones. This is accomplished by a single web page we provide that you can edit to make sure the guest has the information they need. Things such as your address, contact information, rules and other items you would find helpful when interacting with your guests online. This page has a web address and all you need to do is to provide that URL to your guests in some fashion. Many have a pantry website already and just add the link to their page.

Here is a link to the portal for "Terries Food Pantry" which is a demo database. Click the button to the right to make a demo reservation using their portal. The Food choice will let you interact with a picklist and choose your items and the Clothing option is configured without a picklist. This way you see both ways of doing a reservation. You also see the guest record created during the process that is sent with the reservation.
